"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
I am reminded of my frailties, my failures, and how far I fall short. Then I open my Bible and find these comforting words reminding me:
- I should be confident in this very thing.
- That Jesus has begun a good work in me.
- That He will continue to perform that good work in me until the day of Jesus Christ.
- Amen!!

What follows is a selection from, Come Away My Beloved, which I found encouragement from during my late teens and early twenties.
The sweet author uses the pronouns, 'Thee' and 'Thou' to express her thoughts. Don't overlook what she shares because of the words she chooses. There is depth of beauty reflecting Jesus.
If you read this carefully, you will find a very special message within these words, just for you today!!
Frances Roberts was a hymn and poetry writer. She also wrote a song for the Wordless Book, and was very involved in Child Evangelism. She lived from 1918 until 2009.
The Call of Love
By Frances J. Roberts from her book: Come Away My Beloved
O My beloved, abide under the shelter of the lattice - for I have betrothed thee unto Myself, and though ye are sometimes indifferent toward Me, My love for thee is at all times as a flame of fire. My ardor never cools. My longing for thy love and affection is deep and constant.
Tarry not for an opportunity to have more time to be alone with Me. Take it, though ye leave the tasks at hand. Nothing will suffer. Things are of less importance than ye think. Our time together is like a garden full of flowers, whereas the time ye give to things is as a field full of stubble.
I love thee, and if ye can always, as it were, feel My pulse-beat, ye shall know many things the knowledge of which shall give thee sustaining strength. I bare thy sins and I wish to carry thy burdens. Ye may have the gift of a light and merry heart. My all fear and is a cure for every ill. Lay thy head upon My breast and lose thyself in Me. Thou shalt experience resurrection life and peace; the joy of the Lord shall become thy strength; and wells of salvation shall be opened within thee.

ReplyDeleteLove this Judith! This is so very true.
Absolutely loved this post. It spoke to me at a time when I really need strength and encouragement. Thanks for sharing. Dropping by and your newest follower from On My Heart Tuesdays. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteIt is a blessing that you could be encouraged through this post. I wrote it out of my own experiences or it wouldn't be able to be used to touch anyone else's heart. God is so good and constantly a comfort.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind comment on my photo and verse. I, too, used to read Come Away My Beloved in my teens and twenties, but don't have it any longer. I enjoyed this fond memory. :)
ReplyDeleteThis book was one of my mom's favorite books! Still is, probably. Love the verse too as it's my life verse!
