Hidden Faith!!

When I was a little girl living in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong, I remember being involved with my parents' ministry. At the time, Hong Kong was a 'small' city sitting on 400 square miles of peninsula and islands, with 4 million people crowded together, living literally on top of each other. Today,  there are at least 8 million people living in this crowded city. Some live on reclaimed lands, but are their souls reclaimed for Christ?

This is a ship, not a ferry.  I couldn't find the picture on the ferry :-(

I remember going by ferry to one of the islands that was outside the city. It would take an hour ride to arrive. We would pass "boat people" who lived on their 'junks' or 'sand-pans' They were people who did not know Jesus Christ. We would throw tracks into the water for these people to pick up. The tracks were encased in sealed plastic to protect them from the deep green salt water in Victoria Harbor. I must have been only about five.

Where you live, there isn't the need to give out tracks sealed in plastic, but there is a need for the lost to hear about Jesus. We often talk about raising our children to be mighty warriors, or maidens, but have we neglected to teach our children how to win the lost for Christ?? Chances are, many of us don't know how to present the gospel.

My goal is to first do better than giving out an occasional track. I intend to be more intentional about sharing the gospel. There are a few neighbors that I have met and I am praying that I will have an impact on their souls. There have been many towns that have been turned upside-down for the Lord with the prayers of one or two faithful women.

It is not an option whether or not we witness and share Christ with the lost. It is not a gift. It is a command.

I will be writing more about how to share my faith with the lost. First, we need to start with reaching our children and then reach out to others where God has placed us.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
~Acts 1:8~

What are you doing about your faith in Jesus Christ? Do you hand out tracks even occasionally?

In Christ Alone,

  1. Judith, You always surprise me with new things from your interesting life. What a special heritage to have lived in Hong Kong during this time in history. Have you written other things about it that I've missed? Your words are so wise and wonderfully convicting. Thanks, Gail (and your blog hop buttons look great!) : )

  3. You are so right that our evangelism efforts start at home with our kids! So often we leave that up to the church.

    Thanks for linking up!
